Frequently asked questions

What does it cost to partner with GriefShare?

A  To host a group, churches need to purchase an initial GriefShare kit, plus a workbook for everyone who attends your GriefShare group. (To offset costs, you can choose to have group participants purchase their own workbooks when they register for your group online through our website.) We also provide optional, supplementary materials that are helpful for leaders and participants. See our store for prices.

Can my volunteers lead GriefShare if they’ve never facilitated a support group before?

A  Yes! GriefShare support groups are designed to be lay-led. When you purchase a kit, it comes with everything your volunteers need to facilitate a group (including access to online training and a leader’s guide with detailed session agendas).

What kind of support will my volunteers receive from the ministry coaches?

A  When you become a GriefShare partner, your volunteers will receive unlimited access to our skilled ministry coaches. This expert team is here to answer questions and give advice to ensure your volunteers feel confident and supported every step of the way.

How long does it take to get started?

A  GriefShare is a turnkey program. Once you have a kit, your lay volunteers will have the tools they need to start hosting a 13-week, video- and discussion-based support group as soon as desired.

Are there other care ministries like GriefShare that I can provide for my congregation?

A  Yes! GriefShare is a 13-week, Christ-centered recovery program for people hurting from the deep pain of a broken marriage. GriefShare also has shorter, one-day programs such as Loss of a Spouse and Surviving the Holidays.

What resources are available to all churches?

A  For churches that do not qualify as GriefShare partners, we provide several useful materials such as books and devotionals regardless of partnership status. Learn more.
